In health care, a picking error is more than an inconvenience. The wrong format, an expired lot or a damaged product can directly affect a patient’s or consumer’s health, and your brand’s reputation. Order accuracy and inventory precision are the first things to check when choosing a pharmaceutical 3PL.

In Canada, Health Canada requirements vary by product category: over-the-counter drugs (with a Drug Identification Number, or DIN), natural health products (with a Natural Product Number, or NPN), medical devices and protective equipment. Depending on your products, specific licenses and practices may also apply to the companies that store and distribute them. U.S. sales fall under FDA rules, which differ again.

Traceability is non-negotiable. In a recall, you need to know which lots are in stock, which have shipped and to whom. Expiry dates also call for disciplined stock rotation, to avoid write-offs and products reaching customers too close to their date.

What does Kolineo’s Health Canada approval cover?

Health Canada requirements vary widely by product: a natural health product, an over-the-counter drug and a medical device are not subject to the same rules. To find out exactly what our approval covers and whether it fits your products, ask us when you request a quote: it’s one of the first things we review with you.

Do you handle natural health products and supplements?

Yes. Capsules, tablets and creams are among the formats Kolineo already fulfills. In Canada, natural health products must carry an NPN; in the U.S., dietary supplements fall under FDA rules. Those obligations belong to your brand, but they shape how your products are labeled and documented, so share them with us at the start. Do you offer temperature-controlled storage?

Tell us up front which storage conditions are printed on your products. We’ll tell you honestly whether our facilities meet them; if they don’t, it’s better to know before you sign.

Can you help me manage a recall?

A recall runs on good data: which lots are in stock, which have shipped, when and to which customers. Before your first inbound shipment, we agree with you on the information to keep and the steps to quickly isolate the affected lots.

Do you ship health products to the United States?
