How do I track a UPS package in Canada?
Your tracking number is in the merchant’s shipping confirmation email. The most common format starts with 1Z followed by 16 characters. Enter it on the ups.com tracking page.
Where to enter your UPS tracking number
Go to the UPS tracking page. UPS tracking numbers come in these formats: 1Z followed by 16 characters, 12 digits, T followed by 10 digits, or 9 digits.
What UPS tracking statuses mean
- Label Created: UPS has the sender’s shipment details, not the package yet.
- Shipped/On the Way: the package is moving through the network and has a scheduled delivery date.
- Out for Delivery: a driver has the package.
- Exception: something unexpected may change the delivery date. The reason appears in the tracking details.

My UPS package shows as delivered, but I can’t find it. What should I do?
Check other doors, the porch, the back patio or the garage, and ask your neighbours. Still nothing? Contact the seller, who starts the claim according to UPS.
I wasn’t home. How many times will UPS try to deliver?
UPS may make up to three delivery attempts. After the last one, the package goes back to the sender. The driver leaves a UPS InfoNotice with a number you can track.
How long does a UPS Access Point hold my package?
Seven calendar days, then it goes back to the sender. Bring two government-issued photo IDs in your name, one showing the package address (or else a proof of residency).
What time will an “Out for Delivery” package arrive?
UPS drivers can generally deliver as late as 9 p.m., and later during the holiday season. If delivery fails, UPS tries again the next business day. Free UPS My Choice membership shows a delivery window.
I got a text claiming to be from UPS. How can I tell if it’s real?
According to UPS, real UPS texts come from 75137 or 24031. When in doubt, don’t click: type your tracking number on ups.com yourself.
